Physical Therapist and Founder of Citius Performance Therapy
Hi, I’m Dr. Kent Ford — a physical therapist, endurance performance coach, and lifelong mover. I help endurance athletes overcome injury, move efficiently, and build lasting strength so they can keep doing what they love.
I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University and both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Kinesiology and Health from Miami University- where I competed as a Track & Field/ Cross Country athlete. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes of all levels — from high school programs to professional runners — blending clinical care, biomechanics, and real-world performance training.
In addition to Citius Performance Therapy, I work in conjunction with collegiate athletes, where I collaborate with coaches, surgeons, athletic trainers, team physicians, dietitians, and sports psychologists to get athletes back to competition. These experiences shape how I approach care today — combining science-based treatment with personalized coaching that meets each athlete where they are.
At Citius Performance Therapy, I offer both concierge physical therapy and virtual strength and conditioning programming services designed specifically for endurance athletes. My PT sessions often include running gait analysis, return-to-sport testing, dry needling, as well spine and joint mobilization. Whether you’re training for your first marathon or chasing a PR, my goal is to help you stay healthy, durable, and confident in your movement.
Outside of the clinic, I’ve taught in Miami University’s Department of Kinesiology and Health and I serve on both the College of Education, Health, and Society Dean’s Advisory Council as well as the Department of Kinesiology’s Advisory Committee.
When I’m not working with athletes, you’ll find me spending time with family, exercising, painting, or experimenting with new ways to recover and train smarter.
Let’s get you moving better, performing stronger, and feeling unstoppable.
